Best advice: You'll never know until you try. If you go out with him, trust me when I say it will become obvious quickly if all he wants out of you is sex. Make sure you make it clear that you're not into that, if he leaves then you'll know he is a jerk, but maybe he'll surprise you and be totally cool/sweet about it. We all get our hearts broken, many times, but you really wont know unless you go with your gut and hang out with him.
